All SCHERNING jewelry is crafted by hand from pure materials
PORCELAIN is made at our Portuguese workshop. The porcelain clay is colored and cast in plaster molds to create the finest little pendants. After the first firing, each piece is glazed individually and fired again. Each pendant is then decorated in hand, before the third and final firing.
ENAMEL is carefully applied by hand to each piece of jewelry in our own workshop in Copenhagen. As every piece is handcrafted, natural variations may occur from one to another.
STERLING SILVER consists of 925 parts pure silver and 75 parts copper. Since 100% pure silver is too soft to create durable jewellery, this alloy of fine silver and copper is used instead.
All our sterling silver is hallmarked with the 925 purity mark, and our nametag SCH is registered with the Noble Metals Control.
GOLD PLATING is always in 24k fine gold and carried out at a traditional Danish workshop.
